A number of European forms are more garden-worthy than our native cuckoo flower.They will thrive in damp soils under trees and shrubs.

Good companions are hellebores, wood anemones and pulmonarias.

Plants are off sale while we are re-potting and dividing.

Cardamine glanduligera

A choice woodlander with green serrated leaves which unfurl in spring. At the same time there are intense purple pink  flowers. Any good soil. Shade to part shade. H12cm x S15cm


Cardamine pentaphyllos

Pretty spring plant with deep purple blue flowers in March and April.  Humus rich soil. Part shade. H30-45cm.


Cardamine quinquefolia

Shade lover with a profusion of purple pink flowers in spring. Any good soil. Full to part shade. H15cm.
